Chatham New York hosted an International Day of Peace event in the  center of town. We began at 11 AM with poetry readings, including  renowned poets David Kherdian, Peggy Shriver, Peter Dufault and others. The poems were folded and hung on the "Peace Tree" as they were read. At noon, 100 hundred people joined hands for a minute of

silence followed by a group of home schooled kids singing a peace song in Spanish. We had some newspaper coverage and everyone was moved and inspired by the number of of people who joined and the beauty of the day and the event itself.
