All United Nations member countries agreed to celebrate September 21, The International Day of Peace
as a Global Ceasefire and Day of Peace & Nonviolence in our homes,
our communities and between nations. Peace Day has been a focal point
for community-uniting and peace-inspiring events since its inception
in 1981.
Together we can create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world,
one heart, one family, one community at a time. Join the Countdown To
Peace and help inspire your community to create humanity's first day
of peace, ever.
YOU
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
- Ask
your favorite organization, group or religious institution to support
the International Day of Peace
- Plan or attend a Peace Day Event in
your community (scheduled events include concerts, parades, marches,
fasts, conferences, festivals, gatherings, service projects, ceremonies,
children's activities such as peace art & essay contests and pinwheels
for peace, Peace Day parties and peace vigils)
- Ask
your Mayor, City Council, Governor and Head of State to declare a Proclamation
of Peace
- Print
out Flyers, Posters and other Resources

Special
Olympics of Uzbekistan: We will be glad to organize a special
event for Peace Day. On September 21 we are planning to organize
Festival Peace One Day, where we are planning to include: Festival
of figure (pictures) on theme "Peace and sport". Will be organize
exhibition of these pictures from all 14 Oblasts of Uzbekistan in
our famous Museum of Olympic Glory. Will be organizing competitions
on football among special athletes of Special Olympics Uzbekistan
and representatives of UN agencies UNDP, UNESCO, UNICEF. Will to
play team’s men and women. Before this Day will be organize press
conference on coming day's theme. This was discussed with our Honor
President of Special Olympics Uzbekistan - Mrs. Svetlana Inamova
, who is Deputy Primer Minister of Uzbekistan and she with enthusiasm
supports us. So we are glad to organize event for Peace One Day
