A multi faith event with prayer circle, poems, songs, dances, mini
plays. Flying the Giant Peace Dove and prayer flags involving students,
parents and teachers, with local musicians and singers joining in
as well as students. Followed the next day by Peace Pole re dedication
ceremony.

Bahrain tribute

WHITE
doves were "flown" and pinwheels "planted"
all over Bahrain yesterday to mark the International Day of
Peace. More than 350 people attended the Peace One Day event
at the Muharraq Club, where two Giant Peace Doves were "flown"
by children from various government and private schools, as
well as special education institutions.

During
the celebration, students performed dances, songs, poetry and mini-plays
on the theme of peace.

AIR CARRIES GIANT DOVES OF PEACE ON AIRCRAFT FLEET
Airline supports UN
designated International Day of Peace -
All Gulf Air flights yesterday also carried peace doves,
made by The RIA Centre's children. At the centre in Adliya, more
than 70 children also "planted" pinwheels in the garden
as part of the Pinwheels for Peace international project and art
exhibit. Each pinwheel carried the child's message for peace.
They
also displayed prayer flags on the fences surrounding the club and
inside the prayer hall during the morning. Each flag carried a message
of peace and a handprint of a student or teacher.
Representatives
of St Christopher's Cathedral, the Mar Thoma Parish, Sacred Heart
Church and Al Fateh Religious Institute attended.
The
Muharraq Club was chosen so that passengers landing and taking off
at the Bahrain International Airport had an aerial view of the event.
