The Greater Asheville URI CC in North Carolina, USA, had a wonderful
storytelling event in observance of the International Day of Peace.
We had eight storytellers sharing stories of peace from the following
faiths and spiritual traditions: Judaism, Buddhism, Baptist Christianity,
Hinduism, Islam, Celtic Pagan, Baha'i, and Catholic Christianity.
We were hosted by one of the Catholic churches in our area. I wish
you could have seen the 85 people in the audience following an 8-foot
Buddha puppet in a silent mindful walk around the sanctuary! The people
of the Catholic church were gracious hosts and the sanctuary was a
beautiful setting with its newly finished fresco representing the
Communion of Saints.
Peace was alive in Asheville, NC on September 21!
