The proclamation, in part, "Declares that the International Day of Peace shall henceforth be observed as a global day of ceasefire and non-violence," and invites "all nations and peoples to honour a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the day." In addition to the proclamations, the meeting included international musical performances, the ringing of a Peace Bell, and a presentation by Katie Scolari Borden, West Coast General Manager for UNICEF, on UN advocacy issues, including "The State of the Children of the World as Victims of War, Poverty, and Disease."

The IONS (Institute of Noetic Science) Conference was first class - it was powerful, beautiful and profound. It was co-sponsored by the Association of Global New Thought (AGNT). These two organizations came together in a powerful union of science and religion - of vertical and horizontal - of heart and mind.

The speakers were Master thinkers of our times - cutting edge quantum physicists, scientists and researchers who are exploring the mystical unseen world of the Universe and Spiritual evolution within the context of science.... together with inspiring visionaries and ministers of the New Thought Movement who spoke so eloquently about Divinity and the Spirit that moves through all of us.

The Peace Prayer Ceremony was presented as the finale to the 4-day conference. Eight New Thought ministers acted as voice leaders for each of the continents. Eighty members of the Agape Choir of Los Angeles led the audience in a "May Peace Prevail on Earth" song in between the prayer for each of the continents. The flags, once presented on stage, were handed randomly to members in the audience who stood swaying with the flags and joined in the chorus.

At the end 192 flags all waved in unison as a living testimony to our celebration of Life and the Oneness of humanity. We certainly celebrated the International Day of Peace in grand style linking with all of you around the world in spirit.
