Celebrating the International Day of Peace in Scotland
September, 21st 2003

We were delighted to participate in the International Day of Peace in collaboration with 'Spirit Aid,' a Glasgow-based, children's humanitarian charity. Spirit Aid does tremendous work all over the world, mainly with children and young people. Recent projects include building wells and flour mills for villages, and funding mobile medical centres in Afghanistan.

For the second year running, Spirit Aid invited the World Peace Prayer Society to launch their annual week of activities and fund-raising with a World Peace Flag Ceremony. The ceremony was held outside the ancient Glasgow Cathedral, and the large crowd of participants represented many of the countries in present crisis.

As each flag was presented, we all sent our positive messages of good will and love to every human being and creature on Earth. We finished with a giant circle, holding hands and imagining people all over the world doing the same thing as us.

May Peace Prevail on Earth.
