Peace
Day Bracelet
The
Peace Bracelet
By Sudi Baker, Intern for Pathways to Peace
The peace bracelet
was designed as an affordable way to signify unity and peace with
one another. By making and wearing these bracelets, the hope is to
bring together people of all ages in the wish for peace, and to signify
September 21st as the international day of peace.
The four colors,
black, red, yellow and white represent the four directions, the four
races of humanity and the wood beads represents sustainability. Any
household materials can be used if beads are not available. The wish
here is for the makers to be creative and express themselves while
also supporting peace.
These beads cost
me two dollars at the dollar store and then I used some elastic from
my Mom's sewing kit to tie them together. If you can't find wooden
beads at the regular bead store, try the arts and crafts stores. They
may be more likely to carry what you are looking for or look around
in your drawers at home.
May peace be
with you.

May
Peace Prevail On Earth!
