Christina
Tézenas du Montcel was president Envol, a French medical recreational facility
which organizes vacations for seriously ill children from France and throughout
Europe. Formed in partnership with American actor Paul Newman, this center has
hosted more than 6000 children suffering from cancer, leukemia, and other serious
illnesses, giving them the hope, desire and strength to continue to fight their
diseases when they return home to their families. Christina Tézenas du Montcel
was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 as part of the 1000 Women for
the Nobel Peace Prize project.
