Kyra
Sedgwick is a Golden Globe Award-winning American actress who started out her
acting career on TV with a role at 16 on the soap opera, Another World,
then appeared in more than 25 movies, including, Born on the Fourth of July,
Phenomenon and Singles before starring in her most successful role
back on television with the hit TNT drama, The Closer. While on the set
of the 1987 TV movie, Lemon Sky, she met Kevin Bacon, and the couple was married
the next year. In 2007, her husband created SixDegrees.org to help raise funds
for charities and enlisted the help of many celebrities for the project to help
connect donors to causes for a better world; Kyra Sedgwick was of course the one
of the first to participate. Kyra Sedgwick's passion for a better world is protecting
the environment and the cause she helps promote through SixDegrees.org is the
Natural Resources Defense Council, which uses lawyers and scientists to protect
wildlife and the environment and has 1.2 million members.
