Hope
is a powerful emotion that gives us strength and helps us through trying and difficult
times. With hope, we
believe that things will get better, and we find the courage to keep trying. Hope
Day is chance to share your hopes and dream with your friends, family and community,
and to be thankful for all the things we're hoping for.
A joint Congressional resolution
declared April 7 as National Day of Hope in honor of the important work done by
Childhelp USA, which is dedicated to helping prevent and treat child abuse. The
day is meant to give hope to children who have suffered from child abuse and neglect.
The
Congressional Resolution asks that we join in thought and prayer for abused and
neglected children, and work to help break the cycle of child abuse to give children
hope for the future.
